We are a voluntary
organisation with a passion for our park and residents.
Staines Park Residents Association was formed out of a local campaign group which came together in 2018 following a proposal to build on Staines Park itself. The primary aim of the Association is to “Protect, promote and enhance Staines Park for the benefit, health, recreation and enjoyment of current and future generations of local residents.” We aim to directly represent residents from all three Staines wards, particularly those who surround the park or use it regularly.
In October 2019 we achieved our initial ambition – to secure Fields In Trust protection for the park. The park is now protected in perpetuity for future generations of residents to enjoy.
Our work continues: to protect and develop the wildlife and plants within the park; encourage local residents to use the park; develop the facilities available to all ages and offer residents a formal voice in both Spelthorne and Surrey Council business.
We are managed by a steering committee of volunteers and rely on local residents to join us and take an active part in our activities and fundraising. To find out more about joining us as a member and offering your time to help the local community please click here.
As an officially recognised body representing residents in Spelthorne County Borough, we have a Constitution and a number of policies. These, together with the roles and responsibilities of our Committee, are available for download below.
